A little bit about Hollybank Care Home

Hollybank Care Home Ltd is a small family run residential home in Wrexham. We are registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) for the care of 20 male/female residents and provide care for the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the elderly with mental health problems. Our normal age range is over 65 onwards, however, our registration with CIW allows us to support people from the age of 45. Hollybank Ltd caters for people with varying types of mental illness but mostly Dementia / Alzheimer’s and associated issues. Upon admission, the Manager and staff work together with family, friends and the individual to develop a person-centred care plan which enables us to support them effectively. We offer twenty-four hour care by experienced, caring, well trained staff. As a residential home, Hollybank does not provide Nursing Care. However, District Nurses provide any domiciliary medical attention required.

Hollybank Ltd is situated on the outskirts of Wrexham town. It is located in a quiet residential area and is very much part of the community. We are close to Llangollen and Froncysyllte in the Clwyd Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Erddig Hall, a national trust property is on our doorstep. We are registered with four local Dr’s surgeries, two of which are located within walking distance and we are fully supported by the Central District Nursing Team. Wrexham Maelor Hospital is approximately two miles away.

The Proprietor and Sole Director, Janet Bailey, has worked with the elderly for the past 50 years, and during that time was a Registered Care Home Manager for 19 years. She has a wealth of experience, is fully qualified and possesses the City & Guilds Advanced Management for Care Certificate 3253, City & Guilds National Vocational Qualification Training and Development Certificate (A13) and (B12) together with City & Guilds National Vocational Qualification Level 4 - Registered Manager (Adults) award. Janet is not based full time in Hollybank but regularly pops in and is actively involved in all decision making and maintains a general oversight of the home.
